On the first week of March 2020, a politician said the government will have to dismiss the Speaker of Parliament. Can this be done? The short answer is, it is Parliament – not the Government – that elects and removes the Speaker.

?Parliament reconvenes on 18 May 2020. On the first week of March, having wrestled power from PH, a politician said ‘the government shall have to dismiss the Speaker of Parliament’. Can this be done?
